White Hills Beach is an oceanfront community located on S. Shore
Drive in Surf City, NC. The heart of Surf City is just 8 minutes away by
bike, so residents can enjoy a meal of fresh seafood and grab some ice
cream without having to access a vehicle to do so. Additional shopping
and dining are also located a short 10 minute drive away at Gateway
Plaza Shopping Center on Roland Avenue/Hwy 50. Plus, there’s a wonderful
trove of local shops between.
Construction of homes in White Hills Beach began in the 1960s and
continued throughout the following years. Many are located directly on
the beach with their own private accesses. Others are mere steps across
the street from the beach and aligned to allow ocean views. None of the
properties are exactly alike. They range from 900 square-feet up to over
4,000 square-feet.
These are traditional beach cottages built on pilings with their most
attractive exterior features facing the ocean. The older construction
doesn’t have a ton of windows like some of the beach homes built in more
recent years, but they’re cozy and in a great location. Their proximity
to the ocean and the Surf City Pier make them great rental properties
and second homes, but they’re also great for anyone who wants to live
full time at the beach. The community is located in the award-winning
Topsail School District.
