Hawkeswater at the River

Hawkeswater at the River is a residential community off River Road in Leland, NC. The community is built around Belville Elementary School, minutes from shopping and dining on Ocean Highway. Right across the street is the Brunswick Riverwalk at Belville, which features a marketplace, boat ramp, nature trails, fishing pier, playgrounds, outdoor event area, and more. The community also has its own day dock, nature trails, clubhouse, fitness center, and swimming pool. All of this has made it popular with buyers.

Construction of Hawkeswater began in 2009 with Curtis Skipper Construction. These homes have open floor plans and beautiful details, including low-maintenance cement board siding with brick or stone accents, trey ceilings, coffered ceilings, crown molding, wainscoting, wood flooring, tile flooring, built-ins, and large master suites with his and her vanities, soaking tubs, and separate showers. Many of the mature trees were maintained during construction so homes have the additional privacy of natural landscaping around their homes.

As the market dipped, construction stopped. In 2013, D.R. Horton took over construction in Hawkeswater and changed up the overall look of the houses being built there. Many of the homes are 2 stories tall, but there are 1-story homes too. Many have first-floor master suites, which are important for buyers wanting to age in place. They are still building new construction single-family homes; however, their townhome section has sold out, meaning that buyers will only see resales of these properties.

D.R. Horton has 11 floor plans to choose from. They range from 2-5 bedrooms, 2-3 bathrooms, and 1,618-2,361 sq.ft. Each home has an attached 2-car garage. Interior features vary with each floor plan but may include 9'+ ceilings, luxury vinyl plank flooring, luxury vinyl tile, 36" cabinetry, granite counters, stainless-steel appliances, subway tile backsplashes, kitchen islands, walk-in pantries, cultured marble vanities, spacious master suites, frameless showers, soaker tubs, and flex spaces. Exterior features include patios, covered patios, and screened porches. Overall, they have a lot to offer.
