Poplar Branch is a 30-acre community with 60 home sites. While technically located in Hampstead, the community is only a five-minute drive from Surf City.
Surf City is the first town—city is a misnomer is this case—that residents encounter when they reach Topsail Island. Surf City has so much to do. The most obvious attraction is the beach, which is directly across the Topsail Island Bridge. But that is far from the only thing to do in the area. From fresh seafood and tacos to surf apparel and lessons, Surf City has a ton of local businesses geared towards fun in the sun. Down the island, Poplar Branch residents reach Topsail Beach. This town has a similar atmosphere to Surf City but with a little bit more history to it. The beach played a key role during World War II when it was used by the US military as a training and testing facility in concert with the base at Holly Ridge. But there aren’t any military operations on the island nowadays, which have been replaced by relaxing residents who enjoy less crowded beaches and piers. As if an exact mirror of the southern tip of the island, North Topsail Beach possesses a similar atmosphere with spacious beaches and fishing spots.
The location is impeccable, but there’s just as much to love within the community. Poplar Branch homes are mostly two-story with 3 to 4 bedrooms, 2 to 3 baths, and 1,400 to 2,400 square feet. The features include the most up-to-date and desirable among new constructions. Open floor plans granite countertops, tile backsplashes, walk-in closets, first-floor masters, trey ceilings, mudrooms, large bonus rooms, and covered porches and patios are some of the features from which buyers can choose.
