Shore Acres is a single-family home community on Harbor Island in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. This community is known for being a boater's paradise. Many homes in Shore Acres are on the waterfront of Banks Channel or Motts Channel and have private piers, providing access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. The location of Shore Acres really sets it apart from other communities in Wrightsville Beach. While there are similar communities with private docks and access to the surrounding waters, they are usually tucked away on the island. Shore Acres is near the heart of it all. Located right on the Wrightsville Beach Loop, residents have a path to enjoy everything in the town. "The Loop" encircles Wrightsville Beach State Park, Wrightsville Beach Elementary School, a few other communities, and marshlands. Almost all of Wrightsville Beach's most popular attractions and businesses are located along the loop. In one direction it takes residents to the sands and in the other direction, businesses like Mellow Mushroom and Redix.
A little further up the road, residents cross the Wrightsville Beach Bridge into Wilmington, which has a similarly relaxed environment. A much larger city, Wilmington has a list of chains not typically found in Wrightsville Beach, and Shores Acres residents are willing to make the trip. Of course, Wilmington also has its own collection of locally grown businesses that have steadily become staples of the community.
