Mercer Place (East and West) is a community located off Market Street in Wilmington, NC. This is an established neighborhood with homes built as far back as 1910. Whether a property is located in Mercer Place East or Mercer Place West is determined by what side of Mercer Avenue it is located on. Most of the homes are bungalows with rocking chair front porches and the main living areas stacked front to back (bedrooms to the side). Garages are not as common, but other outdoor buildings, like sheds and workshops do pop up.
Homes range from 800 sq.ft. to 2,000 sq.ft. with 1-4 bedrooms and 1-3 bathrooms. There is a variety of interior features due to the age of the homes. Many have been updated throughout the years. There are also a few newer properties built in the 2000s, which have more modern fixtures and finishes.
Mercer Place is close to Beaumont Park and Nir Family YMCA. It’s also a short drive to Independence Mall, Empie Park, and various shopping and dining in Midtown. Wrightsville Beach is just 20 minutes away.
