Long Leaf Hills is an established community located in the heart of Wilmington, NC. It stretches from the Pine Valley Country Club across S. College Road to Pine Grove Drive. It borders Hugh MacRae Park and the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course with some of the homes having views of the green. It’s also just around the corner from Hoggard High School, the YWCA, and shopping and dining at Barclay Commons and Long Leaf Shopping Center. Needless to say, there is a lot to do in the area.
Many of the homes in Long Leaf Hills are 1-story brick ranches built between 1950 and 1979, but there are some 2-story homes mixed in, as well. Don’t let the age of the properties dissuade you. Due to the location and large half-acre (or more) lots, this has remained a popular neighborhood throughout the years, lending itself to regular updates and an active community.
Homes range from 1,200 sq.ft. to 2,800 sq.ft. with a few odd ducks over 3,000. Floor plans with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are standard, but there are homes with upwards of 4-5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Due to the age of the community, it’s not uncommon to find homes with additions.
Long Leaf Hills is popular with buyers who want to park their boats on their property. Trails End Park is just 12 minutes away and has a public boat ramp. It provides convenient access to the Intracoastal Waterway and Masonboro Island.
