Forest Sound is a waterfront community in Hampstead, North Carolina. The community features a variety of home types, averaging around 3,000 square feet. Each home is custom-built, which gives Forest Sound a sense of character not found in communities with more restricted floor plans. On average, homes have three bedrooms and three bathrooms, but there are plenty of options with more and less of each. Lots in Forest Sound are oversized with mature trees that provide plenty of privacy. Each lot is over an acre, which gives residents plenty of room for their home and space to play with kids, install a pool, start a garden, or whatever else they wish.
As far as amenities go, Forest Sound is focused on the nature in and around the community. As a waterfront community, Forest Sound ensures that residents have access to the Intracoastal Waterway beside which it sits. Some waterfront homes in the community have private docks or launches, making it easy for residents to get out on the water. Additionally, a community marina has deep water access and boat storage. The marina has enough capacity for 40 boats, but there is also a boat ramp open to the community for those not storing their boat in the marina. Creeks run throughout the neighborhood with plenty of greenspace, affording beautiful views.
In Hampstead, residents find plenty to do, including attractions, shopping, and dining. What started as a small town has steadily grown as Highway 17 has brought more people. Hampstead has adopted some chain businesses but not at the expense of its local establishments. Locals still frequent the restaurants, shops, and other businesses with which they grew up, but enjoy the increased selection the chains bring to the area.
