River Run Plantation

River Run Plantation is a gated water access community off Sunset Harbor Rd SE in Bolivia, NC. It’s position along the Lockwood Folly River affords the community many waterfront properties (riverfront, creekfront, and lakefront) and amenities, including a fishing pier, personal boat (kayak/canoe) launch, recreational island, and walking trails with water views. The community also has catch-and-release ponds, a clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, picnic area, and a boat and RV storage lot.

Construction on homes in River Run Plantation began in the 1980s and have proceeded steadily right up to recent years. The community has lots ranging from quarter to half-an-acre and homes in a wide range of styles and price ranges, including many entry-level houses. There are also mid-level properties near the lakes and luxury properties along the river and creek. Many of the luxury properties have private piers and docks. This community is a short drive from the Sunset Harbor public boat ramp, so it’s easy to get your boat in the water and back home.

River Run Plantation does have a homeowners association and restrictive covenants. Owners of vacant lots are welcome to bring in their favorite builder, but plans do need to be approved by an architectural review committee.
