Ocean Isle Beach

In 2018, Southern Living named Ocean Isle Beach the "South’s Best Tiny Town". Ocean Isle Beach, NC, is located on one of the five Brunswick Islands in Brunswick County, NC. It also covers a portion of the mainland up to North Carolina Highway 130. This large stretch means there is a wide price range for homes available to purchase.

Ocean Isle Beach has a variety of things to do. Families can get a taste of adventure at the Swamp Park, which has zip line tours, ATV tours, swamp boats, and an aerial adventure park.

If you're interested in science, history, and nature, the Museum of Coastal Carolina has exhibits centered on sea life (sharks, whales, sea turtles, etc.), birds, ecosystems (waterways,  barrier islands, etc.), and North Carolina history (Civil War, shipwrecks, fossils, Native American tribes, etc.). They have monthly lectures and special events. The museum has so much, there's sure to be something of interest for everyone.

For anyone who enjoys a good glass of wine, Silver Coast Winery is located in the northern area of Ocean Isle Beach. They offer wine tastings and a variety of other events. You may even be able to catch one of the local food trucks on site.

Ocean Isle Beach is also home to the North Carolina Oyster Festival. This two-day event happens in the fall and features lots of food and entertainment. Feeling competitive? Join one of the oyster shucking or cooking contests. It's all in good fun.

Of course, if you're heading to the beach, make sure you stop by the Ocean Isle Pier. You can fish, enjoy food at the pier, play in the arcade, and even get some ice cream.

Ocean Isle Beach is a genuine Southern beach town that has the perks of being less than an hour from additional shopping and entertainment options in Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wilmington, NC.
