New Caswell Beach and Southport Water Safety Signs

Caswell Beach and Southport Beach safety signs 2

Local Eagle Scout Candidate Jack Enis is helping to improve water safety in Caswell Beach and Southport just in time for the busy tourist season. With help from board members of the Jack Helbig Memorial Foundation, Jack arranged for warning flag signs and lifeguard rings/cans to be installed near the water in an effort to reduce drownings. Each sign has a QR code that visitors can scan with their phones to see current conditions. The signs will be maintained and monitored by the Southport Fire Department, and the current beach conditions website is operated by Oak Island Water Rescue.
